Bicol Escapade

Hi guys! Better late than never I just want to share my  Bicol experience
last Holy Week of 2016. :)

From Manila to Bicol our trip was whole day. When we arrived at Naga City
it was already dark so we decided to stayed in Naga.

Before we head to Legazpi City since we're already in Naga we
visited the Penafrancia Basilica.

You can buy souvenirs at their store.

 ------

Of course when you're in Bicol you shouldn't miss
to visit the Cagsawa Ruins.

This is our first day visiting the place and the
Mt. Mayon is nowhere to be found which really sucks.

The Cagsawa Ruins are the remnants of an 16th-century Franciscan church, the Cagsawa church.
It was built in 1587 but was burned down by the marauding Dutch in 1636.
However, it was reconstructed again in 1724 by Fr. Francisco Blanco

(source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cagsawa_Ruins)

Today Cagsawa Ruins is the centerpiece of the
Cagsawa Ruins Park where tourist can enjoy the beautiful
view of the Mayon Volcano.

It has an entrance fee worth 10 pesos :)

--------

Then later we went to Bagacay to meet our friends.

The view from here is so awesome you can
really see the Mt. Mayon which we didn't see earlier.

The moon was so beautiful from here too.

--------

This was the view from where we stayed.
It was nice to see Mt. Mayon in the morning since
yesterday we just had the glimpse of it.

We're off again at the Cagsawa Ruins to try some activities there.
And we're going to take pictures again with Mt. Mayon.

Luckily this time we had good photos.

--------

While waiting at the shop where we're going to rent atvs
there is a poster there stating the legend of the Mayon Volcano.

The legend of the Mayon says that there was a beautiful girl
named Daragang Magayon and she has many suitors but she's not interested in any of them.
Then one man saved her life and started courting her then they fell in love with each other.
But one of her past suitors can't accepted that Daragang Magayon was with someone else.
So there was a battle between the two man. Daragang Magayon's lover killed the past suitor
but one of the warrior of the enemy killed her lover. Sadly another arrow pierced Daragang
Magayon when she was running to her love, killing her. Then after the battle, her father
dug a grave and laid the bodies of the lovers in it. And as days passed the graved was rising,
turning into a land form and they started to call it Mayon.
They says that the spirit of her lover was taking in the form of clouds and every time
the clouds was covering the Mayon they were kissing.

Atv is a must try! :)

#RELATIONSHIPGOALS :)

We went at the 2nd highest point at the Mayon called Gabriel's point.
The highest point was the black lava where the movie
She's dating the gangster was filmed.

After our tour we chill for a moment and had our late lunch
at Ayala Mall. Then  we headed at the Mayon Rest house but unfortunately
we arrived there at almost 7pm so it was dark and we can't see the Mayon anymore.
It was a 2 hour drive from Legazpi plus there was a prusisyon so there was a traffic jam.
But we agreed to go back there before we head back to Manila tomorrow! :)

--------

After we had our breakfast I went to Robinson Supermarket
to grab some salad! :)

Before we go back at Mayon Rest House we went again
at Cagsawa Ruins to take group photos and bought souvenirs.

And we're off at the Rest House! :)

AGAIN MAYON VOLCANO IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND lol
we are so unlucky hahaha!

We're supposed to watch a play about the legend of the
Mayon Volcano but the 2nd show was scheduled after lunch.
So end up not watching it because we're heading back in Manila before lunch.

And that's how we spend our Holy week 2016 :)
Hope you had a great time too! :)
see you at my next post!

THANKS FOR READING :)

xoxo,
hazel
